Kristen Sutton is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, LCPC) specializing in individual and group therapy with all ages. Ms. Sutton has over 15 years of experience providing support to children and their families in the Metropolitan area who have been diagnosed with a mood disorder. She is a Washington, DC, Native who attended undergraduate school in Jackson, MS, attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in counseling in 2012.
Ms. Sutton is an enthusiastic professional who has dedicated herself to providing services to children and families in the Metropolitan area. She grew up in the inner city of DC and has experienced many trials and hardships that have made her the person she is today. She provides a non-judgmental, safe space to deal with issues surrounding Domestic Violence, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar I and II, Dysthymia, and more. She has a passion for helping people.
Ms. Sutton uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as her main approach in helping people who are experiencing a mood disorder in an effort to reshape negative beliefs into healthier beliefs that will be able to change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors over time. “We all have been through things that have changed the way we think, feel, and behave. I just want to help you work through these issues to become the best YOU that you can be” stated Ms. Sutton.
